Further Professionalization of Risk Management
<\n\
As Chief Risk Officer, Olaf Timm will now head up risk management at the fully licensed asset management company.
The hep Group has been enabling both private and institutional investors to invest in the world’s largest solar markets since 2008. With a view to greater penetration of the institutional market, the company selected Timm, who has experience in both the German and Luxembourg investment markets.
For Timm, risk management in the interest of investors encompasses not only “the transparency regarding the risk environment necessary for optimal investment decisions,” but also the establishment and monitoring of “guidelines within which both investment decisions and all other activities and areas of the company operate.”
About Olaf Timm
Olaf Timm is looking forward to the challenges at solar specialist hep. As a trained oceanographer—a subfield of climate science—Timm has now come full circle: At hep, he has the opportunity to drive the global energy transition forward.
As CRO, the Hamburg native draws on his many years of experience at PATRIZIA, the publicly traded real estate investment provider. His area of responsibility included, among other things, risk management for six AIFMs based in Germany, Luxembourg, and the UK and their risk management teams, allowing him to now bring his broad expertise in these investment markets to the hep Group.
Responsible investing with hep
Since 2008, the solar company has enabled investors to invest in solar energy in the world’s largest solar markets: the U.S., Canada, Japan, Germany, and now Poland as well. In addition to designing international solar investments with varying durations and risk-return profiles, hep also covers all services throughout the lifecycle of a photovoltaic system: from project development through construction to operation.
The current hep investment fund is structured in accordance with Article 9 of the EU Regulation on sustainability-related disclosure requirements in the financial services sector, and its economic activities are consistent with the Taxonomy Regulation. This ensures that the fund meets the highest sustainability standards currently available for financial products on the market.
