hep global develops 7.4 MWp solar project in Brackenheim

Another step toward the region’s solar energy future. hep global GmbH (hep global), a specialist in the development of solar projects, enters active project development of a solar park with a capacity of 7.4 MWp. The planned project is located on a 5-hectare site between Dürrenzimmern and Hausen. It is in close proximity to the company’s headquarters in Güglingen.

With the municipality’s formal resolution to initiate a development plan, the solar project has now entered the active planning phase. hep global has commissioned initial expert assessments to prepare the next development steps. Following successful project development, construction is expected to start in early 2028. The aim is for local companies to benefit from the generated green electricity through Power Purchase Agreements.

The area is currently still used for viticulture. Around 2,000 of the 11,000 hectares of vineyard area in Württemberg are under structural pressure.  In addition to economic challenges, the project area’s productivity is limited due to its location and the impact of recurring frost events. At the same time, vineyard land offers a particular advantage: the soil, which is less suitable for arable farming, significantly limits alternative agricultural uses, but provides good conditions for the installation of photovoltaic systems.

Alexander Hügler, Director Sales Project Development Germany:

“Solar projects offer a real opportunity for owners of vineyard land that is under economic pressure. Converting land for photovoltaic use creates stable, predictable income with minimal effort. With this project, hep global underscores its commitment to actively driving the energy transition while simultaneously creating sustainable prospects for regional agriculture.”
