hep global Plans a Solar Farm with Battery Storage in Schongau

hep global GmbH, a specialist in solar project development, is expanding an existing solar park in Schongau, Bavaria, marking an important milestone: for the first time, the company is implementing a site in Germany with a fully integrated battery storage system. The project is being developed in collaboration with the photovoltaic specialist Volllast GmbH.

The project has a capacity of approximately 8 MWp. The battery storage system has a capacity of 6.1 MWh and a power output of 3 MW. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026. With an annual electricity production of more than 9.3 million kilowatt-hours, the solar park will be able to supply approximately 2,744 households in the future. The operational lifespan is designed to be at least 20 years.

A key feature of the project is the integration of a high-performance battery storage system. It enables the temporary storage of generated energy and the feeding of power into the grid as needed—even when there is no sunlight. In this way, the Schongau solar park contributes to a more stable and sustainable energy supply.

Now that all permits have been obtained, the project is entering the final phase of technical planning. The project is being financed jointly by numerous individual investors, making it a tangible contribution to the energy transition.

First project resulting from the partnership with Volllast GmbH

This project is the first to emerge from the strategic partnership with Volllast, which aims to jointly implement solar projects. In this joint venture, Volllast GmbH, a PV specialist based in southern Germany, contributes its expertise in securing local land and project planning. In return, the hep global Group handles technical planning, financing, construction, electricity marketing, and operations management. Additional projects with Volllast in the region are planned for 2026.
