Achieving More Together: Community Engagement

Community engagement means actively involving locals — through public participation, dialogue, and exchange. This allows us to gain valuable insights into the economic, environmental, and social conditions which form the basis for the individual strategy of each of our solar projects.

Our Approach to Community Engagement

Our approach to involving local communities and municipalities is aligned with the development phases each solar project goes through. In addition to analyzing publicly available information and sources, we rely on the insights and perspectives gained through direct conversations with residents, municipal representatives, and other stakeholders.

Early Project Phase

In this initial phase, we gather data on local conditions, infrastructure, and socioeconomic parameters. The goal is to understand the region in order to engage in dialogue from an informed standpoint.

Active Project Development

We deepen the site analysis and incorporate feedback from the region. Meanwhile, we identify relevant stakeholders and review permits as well as agreements. We organize on‑site events, provide regular updates, and create transparent communication channels to build trust and address questions at an early stage. We develop and refine measures for local value creation – ranging from participation models and partnerships to programs that support local involvement.

Construction Phase

During the construction phase, our focus is on continuously monitoring and managing the project’s impact on the region. We collect key data on environmental effects, traffic, noise, and economic impacts to enable early adjustments where needed.
At the same time, we ensure transparent communication: municipalities as well as local residents receive regular updates on construction progress, timelines, and potential disruptions – supported by digital communication channels and local contact persons.

Operational Phase

During the operational phase, we continuously monitor energy production, environmental indicators, and regional impacts to ensure compliance with the agreed standards. The results are communicated transparently, ensuring insight for all stakeholders at any time. We serve as a single point of contact for inquiries from authorities or local residents and are primarily responsible for the technical maintenance and operational management of the facility.

What Can Individual Measures Look Like?

Mobility & Transport: Our projects enable the installation of sustainable mobility solutions, such as charging stations for electric vehicles. These charging stations are strategically placed to improve access to renewable energy and encourage the use of electric vehicles. We are also working on integrating solar energy into public transportation systems.

Energy & Innovation: Our projects drive innovation in the field of renewable energy and create opportunities for research and development. For example, we aim to establish transformation partnerships with local energy‑intensive companies to jointly work on holistic storage solutions.

Inclusion & Education: We promote social integration and community cohesion by involving all stakeholders and creating community initiatives. For example, during the operational phase of our projects, we offer guided tours for school classes to provide hands‑on insights into electricity generation through photovoltaics while also highlighting local biodiversity initiatives.

Environmental Protection: Protecting and promoting local biodiversity is essential to us. We create habitats, preserve existing ecosystems, and plant native species – all in harmony with the construction and operation of our solar parks.

Urban Planning: We integrate our solar projects, which are close to cities, into municipal planning to optimize land use and support urban infrastructure. In doing so, we focus primarily on ensuring that provisioning, regulating, and cultural ecosystem services are preserved – or even newly created.

Feel Free to Ask.

Connecting with the region matters to us – and it starts with listening. If you have questions about our projects, our community engagement, or hep solar in general, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

In Addition to Avoiding Emissions, we Pursue these Additional Impact Value Chains:

Biodiversity

We combine climate-focused electricity generation with active environmental protection – as solar parks can improve the ecological quality of land.

Supplier Qualification

When selecting our suppliers, we take into account labor and human rights risks as well as environmental aspects throughout the supply chain.

Circular Economy

We focus on the recyclability of technical project components in order to conserve resources and strengthen the raw‑material cycle.
