hep Named One of the “Top Solar Contractors 2023” in the U.S.
Among the Top Ten
The “Top Solar Contractors” list is compiled annually by the trade journal Solar Power World to recognize the work of solar installers in the United States. Solar companies in the utility, commercial, and residential sectors are ranked based on the number of kilowatts installed in the previous year and grouped by specific services, markets, and states. hep ranks 9th in the solar developer category.
“We are delighted by this recognition of our activities in the world’s second-largest solar market,” says Christian Hamann, CEO of hep. “The conditions for solar investments in the U.S. could hardly be better, and with multiple locations, we are well-positioned to continue driving growth.”
“At hep, we’ve made it our mission to drive the transition to clean energy while prioritizing sustainability and community,” said Wayne Marshall, President of Petra Energy Holdings, a hep subsidiary. “We’re honored to be recognized as a Top Solar Contractor for our work to date and look forward to making an even greater impact in the years to come.”
Projects in the U.S.

The portfolio consisted primarily of utility-scale projects and included a 21.4-MW Depot Solar project in Rustburg, Virginia—hep’s largest project to date in the U.S. With a “community solar” portfolio of six projects in Oregon, hep rose to number 5 on the list of top solar developers in that state.
Growing U.S. Solar Market
The U.S. reported its strongest first quarter ever in terms of solar panel installations for 2023, and the solar market is expected to triple over the next five years. hep’s growing development pipeline and EPC capabilities will keep the company at the forefront of meeting the demands of a growing solar industry.
